This Is The Black Country:

Halesowen Town's new forward Howard Forinton stamped his class on proceedings on Tuesday night as Halesowen came from behind three times to beat West Bromwich Albion 4-3. Forinton scored three excellent goals as Halesowen produced a good performance, particularly in the second half, against a youthful Albion side. The former Birmingham, Peterborough and Yeovil man is expected to give the Yeltz the firepower they badly missed last season as they just missed out on promotion.

The game completed a run of three friendlies in the space of a week, where Town have impressed. They performed credibly against a full strength Walsall outfit, and demolished Midland Alliance outfit Stourbridge. But boss Paul Holleran has injury problems before the season opener at home to Hitchin on Saturday August 13. Alex Cowley is out for two weeks and Simon Forsdick up to three, although both are likely to take their place in the starting squad. Craig Strachan is back running, but not in full training yet.

Duncan O'Brien, on trial from Shepshed, made his debut in the Albion game, but Gary Hay missed it as he is on holiday for two weeks. Holleran said: "It has been a good programme so far, we have had three good tests. "Walsall were too good for us which considering they put two first teams out was not surprising. "Stourbridge gave us a good run out and the game against Albion was excellent, for the fans as well as the players."
