Gary Shelton:

"The final goal summed up the night when a mix-up between Thomas Gaardsoe and Jeff Forsyth allowed Chopra to complete his hat-trick. Defensively we were all over the place and let far too many crosses into the box.”

"No-one really shone but to be fair we had a very young side out, apart from Gaardsoe. The lads have been doing well recently but tonight they let themselves down and didn't do themselves justice. They've had the pats on the back and now they have had the criticism so, it will be interesting to see how they react."

Tommy Craig:

"You are talking about good professionals in Lee Clark, Robbie Elliott and Steve Harper, they are super professionals. Reserve team football is a step down, but they regard it as a job to be done and the response they get from the young lads in the team is terrific. Robbie, Steve and Lee all have top flight experience, as does Michael who showed that with his goals. With that backbone in the team, I thought the young lads flourished."

"I have seen games in the past where teams have been three up at half time, and the second half has gone on to become a bit of an anti-climax. But to be fair to the lads they kept it up, and started the second half they finished the first half. It was a great overall performance, I analysed it quickly after the game and there wasn't a failure. After we lost at Birmingham in our last game, we sat down the next day and went through it, and I think you saw  a real determination out there to get that game and result out of the system."
