CLUB DIRECTORY : FACTS & STATS
Founded: Long thought to have been founded in 1879 but research in 1990 found evidence of a game played by West Bromwich Strollers
in 1878 - it had always been believed that the club was formed as West Bromwich Strollers before changing their name to Albion.
However, in the mid 2000s, further research suggested the Strollers and the Albion were two different clubs. The first mention
of the Albion name in a match report is to be found in 1879.
