NEWS, NOTES & MILESTONES

2006 -
Albion complete their
first signing of the January transfer window with Artmedia Bratislava
midfielder Jan Kozak joining on loan until the end of the season with a view
to a permanent move. The Slovakia international impressed Baggies’ boss Bryan
Robson during a week's trial at the club.
2001 - John Trewick resigns as Albion's Youth Development Manager. The
long serving coach, who also started his playing career at The Hawthorns, has
stated a desire to return to senior football although rumours circulating
suggest that Trewick and Baggies' boss Gary Megson did not see eye to eye.

BIRTHS
1971 - Daryl Burgess
Birmingham-born Daryl Burgess progressed through
Albion’s youth system before
making his first team debut for the club in August 1989. Burgess, who was
originally a right-back, was later switched to the centre of defence and made
the majority of his 377 Albion appearances in that position. He spent 12 years
at The Hawthorns before he was released by the club in 2001. After leaving the
Baggies, he spent two seasons at both Northampton Town and Rochdale before
dropping down into non-league football with Kidderminster Harriers, Nuneaton
Borough and finally Bromsgrove Rovers. In 2008, Burgess started his own soccer
school 'Total Football Premier Coaching' along with his former
Albion team mate
Richard Sneekes.
