NEWS, NOTES & MILESTONES
2005 -
Albion
winger Lloyd Dyer joins Coventry City on loan for the remainder of the
season, he had recently been linked with a similar move to both Nottingham
Forest and Walsall.
"We've
had our eye on Lloyd for a while," City manager Micky Adams told
Coventry's official website. "He's got terrific pace and, hopefully, will
give us the little spark we are looking for."
2001 - Albion sign Leicester City defender Phil Gilchrist in a late
transfer deadline day deal. The player signs initially on loan to enable him to
feature in the weekend's game against Tranmere Rovers. A £500,000 permanent deal
was concluded the following day.
1993 - Albion chairman Trevor Summers reveals to the Express & Star that
he has held meetings with representatives of an international development
company to discuss plans to redevelop the former Hope's Sports Ground in
Halfords Lane. The potential £25million scheme would see an indoor arena built
and linked to The Hawthorns by a bridge.
