Full Name: Douglas F. Witcomb (different sources give his middle name as Frederick or Frank)

Date of Birth: 18th April 1918
Birthplace: Cwm near Ebbw Vale, Gwent, Wales

Died: 1997 (Witcomb went missing from his Redditch home in June 1997. Two months later a body was found in the River Usk in Newport, Wales, near to his early childhood home. It took until January 1998 for DNA testing to confirm that the body was indeed that of Witcomb).
