From its opening in 1981 up until the ground redevelopment in 1994 the Halfords Lane Stand was the most impressive of the four stands at The Hawthorns.
Programme from the full opening of the new Halfords Lane Stand against Arsenal on 02/09/1981

In 2004 it is now the most dated and indeed there are plans to redevelop the stand in the not too distant future.

It was built in two phases at a cost of £2.5 million, work started in 1980 on the section running from the Smethwick End to the halfway line and once that was completed the rest of the stand was built, finally being completed in time for the start of the 1981/82 season.

It was opened in it's entirety for the first time for the Division One game against Arsenal on 2nd September 1981.

For a spell in the mid to late nineties it was known as the Brew XI Stand due to a sponsorship deal with local brewers M&B.

The stand has a capacity of 5,110 and includes over 20 executive boxes. Also incorporated in the stand are both the home and away changing rooms along with dug-outs, offices, lounges/bars, the original Albion museum and the press box.
