WE NEED YOUR HELP
Fancy yourself as a match reporter, want to reminisce about Astle
and Allen, or have you ever wanted to write your very own regular Baggies’ column?
We are always looking for people to help with this
website, it can be on a regular basis or it can be a one-off contribution, light-hearted or serious.
We do have the capability to publish any articles, previews and reports submitted to us onto NewsNow‘s Albion newsfeed, meaning that they would have a potentially large readership. Your grammar does not have to be perfect and any problems in regards to that can be easily overcome.
The site is run purely on a voluntary basis and therefore you must be prepared
to work for no monetary gain. However, writing for the site and having articles
published can lead to opportunities elsewhere. Over the last few years this website has provided a 'West Brom
viewpoint' for amongst others, Manchester City's and Sunderland's official websites, a number of
opposition matchday programmes, the BBC, the 'Irish Examiner' newspaper, the
Liverpool Echo, Nuts
Magazine, 'World Soccer' magazine, and
numerous other websites. Writing for the site may be suitable for someone
looking for a career in journalism who wishes to gain experience and exposure of
their work or simply someone that enjoys writing and giving their opinions about
the Baggies.
We have the following positions available:-
Match Reporter
- Someone that attends both home and away games would be preferred although it
is not essential - we are happy to accept one-off match reports. The writing style would perhaps be more relaxed, giving more of a fans viewpoint rather than a typical straightforward description of the game.
Match Previewer
- Must have a good knowledge of the squad and the Premier League in general, keeping up to date with all the recent games, injuries and suspensions.
Squad Biographer - Someone that can provide in-depth profiles for each member of the playing squad and coaching staff. Ideally the profiles would include information from entire careers and not just from their Albion one. The statistical side of it is not important. In time we would also like to profile as many ex-players as possible and obviously due to the large number involved we are happy for more than one person to be involved with the profiling.
General Articles - We are looking for writers to provide articles and opinions on the latest happenings at the club and also people that can provide historical pieces. It can be a regular contribution or a one-off.
Under-21 & Academy Team Match Reporter
/ Biographer - Someone that is a regular watcher of games would be
preferred and perhaps someone with a good knowledge of the younger players at the club.
We would also welcome any help with the statistical side of the website.
Please get in touch for more details, if you have any ideas, or if you are interested in helping in any way.
