on-loan winger Silvestre Varela remains sidelined following groin surgery.
Midfielder Claudio Yacob is unavailable with the Argentine currently back in his
homeland for personal reasons.
Crystal Palace
Palace boss Neil Warnock will be
without midfielder James McArthur who suffered an hip injury in last weekend's
game against Chelsea. Defender Damien Delaney will also sit the game out
following his red card against the Blues.

training following his knee injury but is unlikely to figure.
QUOTES
Baggies' boss Alan Irvine:
"When you look at Palace they
are extremely well organised.
"Neil Warnock has taken over a
side that were very well-drilled. They have great structure, discipline when out
of possession and they counter-attack well. It's different game to Manchester
United but very tough too.
"Obviously we are hoping to get
a victory but it's not a foregone conclusion because they are a very tough team
to play against. We will have to play very well to beat them."

FIXTURE HISTORY
The first ever meeting of Albion and Crystal Palace
came in a friendly game which took place at
Selhurst
Park in January 1930. Two goals from Joe Carter saw
the Baggies run out 2-1 winners.
The first competitive meeting of the two clubs took place in
September 1969 during Palace’s first ever season in the top-flight,
Albion running out 3-1 winners at Selhurst Park. Danny Hegan, Bobby Hope and
Jeff Astle scored for the Baggies whilst Cliff Jackson hit the hosts’ solitary
reply. The return game at The Hawthorns in January saw Albion complete the
double over Palace with a 3-2 victory, Jeff Astle hitting a hat-trick for Alan
Ashman’s team.
Albion’s biggest win over
Crystal Palace came during the 1988 season, the Baggies winning a thrilling game
5-3 at The Hawthorns. Robert Hopkins, John Paskin and a Don Goodman hat-trick
helping to overcome a Palace side that featured future Arsenal legend Ian Wright
who missed a penalty in the game.
The Londoners’ best win over Albion came in February
1973 at The Hawthorns when two goals each from Alan Whittle and Derek Possee
gave the visitors a 4-0 victory.
Probably the most important meeting of the two clubs came in
the final game of the 2001/02 season when Albion needed three points to
clinch a place in the Premier League for the first time. Goals from Darren Moore
and Bob Taylor in front of a full-house at The Hawthorns gave the Baggies a 2-0
win and a place in English football’s elite.
Albion’s recent record against
Palace is poor having won just two of the last eleven league and cup meetings.

West Brom condemned Crystal
Palace to a seventh successive league defeat as they withstood the visitors'
second-half revival at the Hawthorns. Saido Berahino calmly fired the hosts
ahead just before the break after taming Stephane Sessegnon's low cross.
Palace's Mile Jedinak headed wide when well placed before Marouane Chamakh's
miscontrolled shot almost trickled in. Gareth McAuley headed in to snuff out the
visitors' hopes, before Boaz Myhill denied Yannick Bolasie late on. The defeat
underlined the task facing caretaker boss Keith Millen's successor in the
Crystal Palace dug-out. The Eagles, bottom of the table, have lost all but one
of their 10 Premier League games this season and are six points from safety.
The visitors started brightly
enough, with Chamakh's flick-on falling for Adlene Guedioura to strike a
forceful effort straight at Baggies keeper Myhill. But that partnership did not
have the chance to flourish any further, with Guedioura carried off after an
initially innocuous-looking clash with Myhill shortly after. West Brom made an
early change of their own, introducing Berahino in place of the injured Billy
Jones on the half-hour, but they struggled to make an impression on their
industrious, but limited opponents for much of the first half. Instead,
Guedioura's replacement Jason Puncheon dragged their best chance wide before
Berahino registered his sixth goal of the season. The England Under-21
international collected Sessegnon's square ball just inside the Palace box
before sweeping the ball round defender Dean Moxey and into the bottom corner.
West Brom had been unbeaten in
five league games before last week's defeat by Liverpool - a run that included a
victory at Manchester United and a draw at home to Arsenal - and their
confidence returned with the lead. Only a crucial touch from Eagles defender
Joel Ward diverted Morgan Amalfitano's cross away from a lurking Shane Long
before Sessegnon failed to make a clean connection as the defence parted
invitingly in front of him. The Baggies almost paid for that wastefulness as
Jedinak contrived to head wide when unchallenged eight yards from goal, before
Chamakh sent the ball past an advancing Myhill when trying to control it, but
the inadvertent effort at goal was off target. But McAuley barrelled in at the
back post to settle the home fans' increasing nerves with a fine header. Palace
finished strongly with Bolassie, Damien Delaney and Jerome Thomas all going
close but it was too little, too late as their chastening campaign continues.
