      HISTORY : THE LEAGUE CUP

Albion first entered the League Cup during the 1965/66 season after sitting out the first five years of the competition. It would be a successful incursion into League Cup football with the Baggies winning the trophy at the first attempt after beating West Ham United in the two-legged final.

Albion would reach two more finals in the next four years but would fail to repeat the success of 1966.

Recent years have seen the Baggies struggle in the competition with just one semi-final appearance since 1970.

In this section of the website, we take a look at the club’s complete record in the competition along with player stats, memorable games, programmes, trivia and more.
